An Immortal Being
Shadows in the darkened night,
Stars dancing in the sky,
Their shimmering, shining, silver light,
Guiding those who fly.
Their wide spread wings of leathery veils,
Their unchallenged calls roar loud,
Gliding through the clouds, they sail,
Their heads upheld and proud.
Lashing tails of colossal damage,
Sharpened teeth gleam shrewd,
Piercing eyes peer through the foliage,
Talons painful and crude.
Venom spills from jaws agape,
Lightning flashes between,
Starlight falls on orbs to drape,
Movements unseemingly keen.
Glittering scales sparkle brightly above,
Iridescent colors to view,
Dancing within, the memories of,
The centuries that number so few.
The immortal beings appear ageless,
Their ambition - everlasting and fierce,
Within those eyes live cages,
Of souls they've had to pierce.
Thus are creatures of magnificence,
Roaming freely above the sun,
None have even compared, since,
This beast has made itself known; dragon.
