Well, it's about time, that's all I have to say. Yesterday I received a call from an Assisted Living place asking if I would like an interview for today; I had previously filled out an application with them. It was supposed to be at 10 this morning, but since we didn't go to bed until 3 in the morning, one could imagine why we didn't wake up with the alarm at 8:30. Luckily for me though my alarm on my phone was still set for 9:50 (so I can take my meds) and it woke us up. I called the lady back and told her I was going to be late, then rushed to get Osiris and myself ready and finally made it there at 10:35am. Not very good timing for a first impression.
So anyway, I ended up getting the job as a care taker and went outside to see my puppy on my husband's lap sleeping. This was awkward for me because so far they have not been on the best of terms. Tommy has never owned a dog before, only cats, and Osiris is a big baby and likes to run from Tommy straight into my lap whimpering. Tommy is also the first person to yell and discipline Osiris, but does not realize the necessity of loving him shortly after, especially if the said dog is a Great Dane. Needless to say, they have their differences.
Don't get me wrong, I am very happy they are bonding this way, it is just perturbing for me because Osiris was my baby that always ran to me and crawled in my lap for security. However, on the way home, the roles flipped. I stole him away so Tommy could drive, but that upset him so much, that he crawled back over the arm rest, numerous times, to get back to Tommy's lap.. Don't believe me, here's proof:
Now how about that, the little bugger.
After we left there, we picked up Tommy's tips from the day before and headed to my father's. Once we arrived, my dad instantly started playing with Osiris, he misses his Danes so much, and then eventually went to work. We picked up the Demon Spawn, went to the bank, got some donuts and left for home.
As we opened the door to our apartment we heard shuffling and kind of a rustling sound inside. Tommy flipped the light switch and laughed at what he saw, all the while gently chiding his kitten.
So, all in all, just another average day off for my husband and a chance for me to get out of the house.
Oh yeah, I also submitted my diary to be 'reviewed' by one of these review sites.. That should prove to be interesting. I had found a link on someone else's diary and followed it out of curiosity. A new concept, this reviewing stuff. Too bad most of them seem like.. uh.. 'not so very nice people.' I'll let you know how it goes.
